Counter Trafficking In Person (ctip) Ambassador at LEAP Africa

Anna Ishaku is a dedicated public health professional with extensive experience in reproductive health, health systems strengthening, and advocacy against human trafficking. Currently serving as a Counter Trafficking in Persons Ambassador at LEAP Africa, Anna focuses on evidence-based advocacy in combating modern slavery. In the role of African Regional Leader for the International Working Group for Health Systems Strengthening, Anna engages in advocacy and research to enhance health systems across the region. Anna's background includes roles at organizations such as Midwifery Today International, Médecins Sans Frontières, and the International Rescue Committee, where Anna provided critical midwifery and nursing care, emphasizing maternal health and support for survivors of sexual violence. Anna holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from the University of the People and has further qualifications in health emergencies from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
