Elena Barrera-Waters

Elena Barrera-Waters currently serves as the Tutor Experience Manager at Step Up Tutoring since September 2024 and has been with Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America since April 2022 as the Manager of Alumni Engagement and Impact, focusing on alumni engagement and program management for LEDA Legal. Previous roles include Mentorship & Career Development Coordinator and Special Projects Fellow at Project Rousseau, and an intern position at the National Football League. Elena has also gained experience at the University of Chicago in various capacities, including Sports Information Intern, Diversity and Inclusion Intern, and Leader for the Emerging Minds Project Diversity Cohort. Early career experiences involved internships at TransUnion, Indeed.com, Latinitas, Brazen, and Conceivable, primarily centered around diversity, inclusion, branding, and empowerment initiatives. Elena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Human Development from the University of Chicago, earned in 2021.
