Adam Even Engel began their professional career in 2014 as a Student Teacher at Ballou High School, where they developed DC standards-aligned chemistry lessons under the guidance of Mr. Andrew Boddorff and presented literacy-focused science lessons that led to a 10% increase in in-class student writing performance. In 2015, they served as Assistant Program Coordinator for Learning and Teaching Science with Scientists at American University, where they assisted in development and execution of a month-long workshop connecting DC science teachers with American University science faculty. Adam Even also Student Taught at BASIS DC, developing curriculum aligned biology and psychology lessons for secondary-aged students under the guidance of Dr. Kristy Sundberg. Additionally, they were a Chemistry and Physics Teacher at District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), where they developed and implemented curricula for 10th grade chemistry students and 11th and 12th grade physics students. From 2016 to 2019, Adam worked as a Chemistry and Algebra Teacher at Seattle Public Schools, teaching intro chemistry and algebra 2 at Roosevelt High School. Adam Even also coordinated math lab for below-level algebra and geometry students, allowing them to catch up to their peers in math classes. From 2017 to 2022, Adam was the Class Advisor and Science Department Head at Highline Big Picture, where they lead a cohort of 16 students in their development of individualized, interest-driven, community-integrated curricula. In 2021, they joined the Hillel Foundation At the University of Washington as a Board Member and JConnect Board Representative, representing JConnect, the young adult outreach program, on the Hillel Foundation board of directors. In 2022, Adam began working as a Level 2 Support Engineer at LeanDNA and as the Founder and Chief Aromatic Officer of Tiny Dinos Coffee, a boutique coffee roastery located in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood.

Adam Even Engel obtained their Master's Degree in Science Teacher Education/General Science Teacher Education from American University between 2014 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a B.A. in Chemistry and Computer Science from Boston University between 2009 and 2012. Adam Even also holds a Washington resident teacher's license from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, which they obtained in June 2016. Before their college studies, Engel attended Binghamton University and Framingham High School.
