Russell Ligon

Russell Ligon, PhD, is an experienced data scientist with a robust background in research and data analysis across various academic and professional settings. Currently employed at Learning Ovations since December 2020, Russell has previously held positions at EMI Consulting as a Senior Researcher, and as a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science. Notable accomplishments include the development of data tools for educational funding optimization and advanced algorithms for chemical signal detection during a postdoctoral tenure at Cornell University. Russell's expertise extends from the National Science Foundation, where patent-pending analytical methods were invented, to significant contributions during a graduate research assistantship at Arizona State University, culminating in numerous peer-reviewed publications. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biology from Arizona State University, an MS from Auburn University, and a BA from Pomona College.
