Rio Fischer has extensive work experience in the field of user experience (UX) research and design. They began their career as a Research Assistant at Claremont McKenna College in 2009 and went on to work as a Line Cook at IT Catering from 2012 to 2013. In 2014, Rio worked as a Substitute Teacher and Volleyball Coach at Glendale Unified School District. They then joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Research Assistant from 2015 to 2018. Rio pursued a PHD at Boston University from 2018 to 2021, serving as a PHD Researcher. They then worked as a UX Research Consultant at ACBC Consulting from 2020 to 2022. In 2022, Rio worked as a UX Designer for an unspecified company from March to August, before transitioning to Learnship, where they served as a Product Manager - Learner Experience from September 2022 to July 2023, and later as a User Experience Lead from July 2023.
Rio Fischer has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Claremont McKenna College, which was obtained from 2008 to 2012. They pursued further education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a Master of Science degree in Architecture Studies from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, Rio completed a UX/UI Design Bootcamp from Ironhack in 2022. Lastly, they started but did not complete a Doctor of Philosophy degree in History of Art and Architecture at Boston University from 2018 to 2021.
