John Clausen

John Clausen, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, serves as Deputy General Counsel at Lemonade since July 2022, providing legal oversight in a dynamic environment. Prior to this role, John held the position of Managing Counsel at Metromile from August 2016 to July 2022, where responsibilities included legal counsel for a growing claims team. John’s earlier experience includes a tenure at State Farm ® from 1998 to 2016 as Counsel, overseeing claim litigation, performance reviews, and budgeting, and as a Trial Attorney, managing litigation across various courts. John earned a JD from the University of Nebraska College of Law and a B.S. in Finance from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
