Sagrario A. has over 18 years of work experience in various roles within the biotech and research industries. Sagrario most recently worked as a Program Director Partnerships and Production Platforms at Leyden Labs since November 2022. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2022, they worked as a (CMC) Project Manager at Wacker Biotech B.V., leading CMC projects and project teams for process development and clinical manufacturing.
Before that, from 2019 to 2020, they held the position of (Sr) Project Manager, Sanquinnovate at Sanquin, where they managed the portfolio of Sanquin Innovation projects and contract research projects in the field of hematology, immunology, and oncology. Sagrario was also responsible for stakeholder communication and setting up project management tools.
From 2013 to 2019, they worked at Batavia Biosciences, where they held various roles including Program Manager & Scientific Liaison, CEO office, Principal Scientist PO office, Principal Scientist, and Scientist USP. During this time, they gained experience in program management, scientific liaison, and leading research projects.
Sagrario started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher Scientist at the Institute of Chemistry, Leiden University / Collaboration Crucell Vaccine Institute from 2012 to 2013, where they worked on a collaborative project for the development of an universal influenza vaccine.
Prior to that, from 2007 to 2012, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research / TU Braunschweig, focusing on the development of Pseudomonas as a platform for the production of biodegradable bioplastics.
Sagrario began their professional journey as a Teaching Assistant in Biochemistry at the University of Leon from 2004 to 2007.

Sagrario A. has a diverse education history. In 1997, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidad de León. Sagrario then pursued further studies and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with a focus on Accreditation for Teachers in Life Sciences (CAP) from the University of León in 2005.
Sagrario A. continued their education by enrolling at the University of León for their PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, which they successfully completed in 2007. During their PhD, from 2003 to 2004, they also obtained a Postgraduate Degree: Advanced Studies Diploma (DEA) in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology from the same university.
