POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently looking to hire an Accounting Manager to join our rapidly growing organization.  This position will work with both the Finance and Human Resources departments on providing services to our external vendors with a focus on accounts payable and employment tax compliance and some payroll functions.  To be successful, the right candidate must be a self-starter who is focused on process creation/ improvement to meet the everchanging needs of our organization.  This individual will have the autonomy to take the tasks assigned to them and make them their own as well as grow out a team underneath them as the company continues its growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ownership of the entire Accounts Payable process with a focus on streamlining and improving current processes, month end accrual, forecasting expected monthly expense, vendor management, including:

  • Paylocity-back up HR for payroll, consultant payments, change T& E to Paylocity
  • Commissions Calculation
  • Employment Taxes and state registration
  • Oversee and manage all travel and expenses, create policies and procedures around T&E, train staff as we transition to new T&E platform.
  • Manage all commission payouts to brokers across both platforms, reconcile all payments at month end to ensure accuracy, accrue outstanding commissions at month end
  • Work with bank & tax partners as needed on daily, monthly requests
  • Streamline and manage 1099 process
  • Assist the accounting department with general accounting activities including reconciliation of some ledger accounts
  • Ensure external participation received from partners is accurately updated and tagged on banking partner platforms
  • Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in finance or accounting
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in accounts payable and tax
  • Managerial experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting
  • Experience working with external vendors
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office – specifically Excel

  •  Required Years of Work Experience: 5years
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; Master’s degree a plus
