K.J. McConnell

K.J. McConnell is the current facilitator at LifeLabs Learning. They have also been the associate dean of students & director of community living at Marietta College from June 2019 to May 2022, the director of residence life and leadership at Saint Leo University from June 2010 to June 2019, the assistant director of residence life at University of North Florida from July 2007 to June 2010, the program director at Crestfield Camp and Conference Center from May 2007 to August 2007, and a hall director at James Madison University from August 2005 to May 2007. K.J. McConnell has also been a residence life coordinator at West Virginia Wesleyan College from August 2003 to May 2005. While they were at West Virginia Wesleyan College, K.J. McConnell supervised 3 assistant coordinators and 19 community assistants, participated in campus-wide on call duty rotation, provided on-site crisis intervention, facilitated Students Managing Academic and Residential Transitions (S.M.A.R.T.) program, was responsible for administrative functions including building maintenance, repair and billing, coordinated campus-wide Got Pride? initiative between residence halls and athletics, planned and implemented hall director and resident advisor training sessions, coordinated payroll, and managed recruitment process for area Community Assistants participating in Assistant Coordinator, Residence Life Coordinator and Director selection process.

K.J. McConnell has a Master of Science from Saint Leo University in Critical Incident Management/Emergency Response, a Doctor of Education from Northeastern University in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration, and a Master of Education from James Madison University in College Student Personnel Administration. They also have a Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Secondary Education & English Literature with minors in Spanish & Honors. They are certified by LifeLabs Learning as a Founding Community Member and by USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace.

They are on a team with Amelia Rosenman - Facilitator, Danielle Miller - Facilitator, and Ryan McElhenie - Facilitation Coordinator. K.J. McConnell reports to Lisa Safran, Facilitator Lead.
