Dale Wijnand

Dale Wijnand has been working in software engineering since 2008. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as a Java Programmer for Wizards Consulting Group, Coresecure, and Pro-netics S.p.A. At Pro-netics S.p.A., they were involved in many different projects, including completing the delivery of a TripAdvisor-like webapp, maintaining and configuring Apache Solr installations, and porting two modules. In 2013, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, and Team Lead for PowaTag at Powa Technologies Ltd. Here, they transformed a one-man proof-of-concept into a released, PCI-DSS compliant product, initiated a devops culture, and evolved and maintained the various testing strategies. In 2014, they moved on to Beamly as a Senior Software Engineer and Scala Guild Lead. Finally, from 2016 to present, they have been a Senior Engineer at Lightbend, Inc.

Dale Wijnand obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of York between 2004 and 2007. Dale also holds certifications in Principles of Reactive Programming, obtained in January 2014 from Coursera, and Functional Programming Principles in Scala, obtained in December 2012 from Coursera.
