Bob Watt

After more than 50 years of full-time work for pay, Bob Watt retired as vice president of State & Local Government Relations and Global Corporate Citizenship for The Boeing Company in 2007. Prior to coming to Boeing in January of 2002, Bob served as President and CEO of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, a position he held from November 1995 through December 2001. Bob’s highly diverse work-life included co-founding PhyCom Corporation, a health care software company, serving as deputy mayor of the City of Seattle under Mayor Norm Rice, five years as president of Family Services of Seattle/King County, and more than 12 years at Youth Eastside Services, the last five as its executive director. Prior to his time at YES Bob was a special education teacher at a residential treatment center. He has also served as board chair of the Group Health Cooperative, Casey Family Programs, the Alliance for Education, the Group Health Foundation, The Children’s Alliance, SEAFAIR, and the Seattle Foundation. He served as a member of Washington State Governor Gregoire’s Washington Learns Steering Committee and as a co-chair of the Washington State Early Learning Council. Bob received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Portland State University and earned a teacher’s certificate in Special Education from Western Washington University.
