Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions (LBHS) provides individual, outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, psychiatric services, and medication assisted treatment for mental health and substance abuse treatment needs. Position: Medical Director

Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing the medical operations of the residential withdrawal management (RWM) program in addition to providing leadership and supervision of the medical providers delivering substance use disorder (SUD) and psychiatric services offered by Lighthouse, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical care to clients and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This position reports to the Vice President of Medical Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Medical Services leadership to identify opportunities for growth and development, implement initiatives, policies and procedures to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

  • Provide supervision as the laboratory clinical consultant, supporting the operation of a high complexity laboratory

  • Collaborate/Supervise up to five psych, family or adult nurse practitioners (NPs) and five physician assistants (PAs) at any one time.

  • Provide availability via telecommunication for consultations on problems, complications, emergencies, and referrals

  • Ensure all medical RWM services comply with federal and state law, as well as accreditation standards.

  • Develop and maintain treatment protocols for detoxification/withdrawal management

  • Participate in periodic staff meetings, either remotely or in person, and facilitate professional development and education for the medical services team

  • Conduct quality assurance documentation and delivery of care reviews according to Lighthouse policy

  • Remain up to date on psychiatric and SUD evidence-based practice, and effectively communicate this information internally and with community stakeholders

  • Support revenue cycle management (RCM) operations to ensure the appropriate and timely billing of medical services

  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Required Experience/Certifications:

  • Licensed as an MD or DO in the state of Ohio

  • Board certification in Psychiatry or Family Medicine

  • 2 years of psychiatric experience (if Family Medicine board certified)

  • 2 years of experience in substance use treatment

  • Active and unrestricted DEA

  • Completion of a minimum of 24 hours of buprenorphine training via ASAM if not Addiction board certified

  • Valid state of Ohio driver's license and insurance

  • Must pass BCI check, all corporate compliance checks, and employment drug screen

Desired Experience/Certifications:

  • Board certification in addiction preferred
