Oleksa Stepaniuk

Data Scientist at Limelight Networks

Oleksa Stepaniuk has a diverse range of work experience, starting with serving as a Sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since March 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Data Scientist at Limelight Networks, where they developed tools to detect anomalous behavior and improve network capacity. At Peak and Relative Insight, they completed internships focused on data science.

Before that, they were a Data Analyst at the Kyiv School of Economics, where they worked on various government projects, led a team of analysts, taught courses, and drove business development. Oleksa also worked as a Visiting Researcher at the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute, updating agricultural sector databases and extending models.

Additionally, Oleksa worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting, conducting econometrical analysis and contributing to international trade projects. Oleksa also served as a Junior Research Fellow, representing Ukraine in international research projects.

Furthermore, they were a Policy Analyst at the German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue, initiating a joint project with the Johann Heinrich von Thuenen Institute. Prior to that, Oleksa worked as a Data Analyst at UniCredit Bank Ukraine, where they developed a client segmentation system and predictive churn model.

Oleksa Stepaniuk completed their Bachelor's Degree in Finance, General at Ukraine Jobs from 2007 to 2011. Oleksa then pursued a Master of Arts in Economics at Kyiv School of Economics, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Their most recent education endeavor was at Lancaster University, where they achieved a Master of Science in Data Science from 2018 to 2019.
