Ousman Mahmud

Ousman Mahmud, PhD, is an accomplished scientist with extensive expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology, and natural language processing. Currently serving as an Application Scientist at IQVIA since January 2020, Ousman utilizes NLP and GenAI analytics to address real-world challenges for clients and enhance NLP business operations. Prior experience includes roles as a Genomics Bioinformatician at IBM Watson Health and a Computational Biologist Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where Ousman engaged in advanced genomic analytics and bioinformatics pipeline development. Ousman also held academic positions at The University of Georgia and Jackson State University, focusing on bioinformatics research and teaching. Ousman holds a PhD in Genetics from The University of Georgia and a B.Sc. in Biology from Rust College, along with a Master's degree in Biology from Jackson State University.
