Akbar Karenga

Akbar Karenga has a diverse work experience in the area of talent acquisition and people management. Akbar is currently working as the People and Talent Director at LiSA since January 2023. Before that, they worked as the Head of Membership at District4 from November 2022. Prior to that, they were associated with Founders Factory as a Talent and People professional through Maarusi since September 2022. Akbar is also the Founder of Maarusi since October 2019. Akbar has served as an Advisor for various organizations including Black Recruiters Network, Black Valley, and Udder - Talent Technology. In the past, they worked as the Director of Recruitment at Metafy from February 2022 to September 2022. Akbar was also the Head of Talent at Storyblok from January 2021 to February 2022. Previously, they served as a Talent Coach at Founders Factory from January 2020 to January 2021. Akbar has gained experience in scaling teams, implementing HR tech ecosystem, and branding employee value proposition.

Akbar Karenga studied at the University of Kent from 2007 to 2010, where they completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy and Politics.
