Mark Dery is a seasoned writer, editor, and writing coach with a diverse career spanning over two decades. Currently self-employed since May 2009, Mark serves as a freelance journalist, book author, and lecturer at the Yale School of Art, while also undertaking a biography of Edward Gorey for Little, Brown and Company. Previous roles include columnist positions at The Daily Beast, Boing Boing, Thought Catalog, and True/Slant, where Mark contributed cultural commentary and essays. Mark's academic background includes serving as an Assistant Professor at NYU's Department of Journalism, and as Executive Editor of Artbyte Magazine, where strategic rebranding and editorial development were implemented. Mark Dery holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Occidental College.
