Associate Director of Strategy at Living Cities

LaKeeshia Austin Fox has a wealth of experience in the public sector. LaKeeshia began their career in 2010 as a Judicial Intern for Judge Allyson K. Duncan at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and a Legal Intern for the Mecklenburg County Public Defender. In 2011, they became a Program Analyst in the Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Office of Policy at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. In 2012, they completed a six-month rotation in the Civil Rights Division, Federal Coordination and Compliance Section at the U.S. Department of Justice as an Attorney/ Presidential Management Fellow. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a Policy Counsel for the Poverty and Race Research Action Council and as a Commissioner for the DC Housing Production Trust Fund Advisory Board. During this time, they also served as a Legislative Representative for AARP. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as the Director of Legislative and Governmental Affairs and Interim Chief of Staff for the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education. LaKeeshia currently serves as the Associate Director of Strategy for Living Cities.

LaKeeshia Austin Fox received their Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law in the field of Law. LaKeeshia is also certified as an Attorney by the State Bar of Maryland.
