Simon Wong

Simon Wong has a strong background in software engineering, with a focus on digital shopping experiences and client-facing applications. Simon is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at LLUNA, a position they started in February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at IKEA as a Senior Software Engineer for their Digital Shopping Experience team from April 2021 to February 2023. In this role, Simon was responsible for supporting IKEA's global e-commerce products and driving customer conversion through innovative technical solutions. Simon also built, deployed, and scaled cloud-based micro-applications using React and Node.

Before joining IKEA, Simon worked at Vanguard, where they held various roles from 2015 to 2021. Simon started as a Software Engineer in the Cloud Application Architecture team, where they collaborated with senior architects to develop enterprise-standard microservice templates. Simon then became an iOS Developer in the Global Business Systems team, where they partnered with international sales representatives to deliver iOS mobile applications. Simon also worked as a Software Developer in the Institutional Participant Experience team, implementing lean website optimization practices to reduce customer service costs. Simon later became a Project Manager in the Cloud Program, leading the buildout of Pivotal Cloud Foundry runtime environment.

In addition to their work in the software industry, Simon also gained experience as a Learning Assistant at Penn State University in 2015, supporting the College of Information Sciences and Technology. Prior to that, they interned at Vanguard as a College to Corporate Software Development Intern in 2014 and at Aetna as a Digital Marketing & Communications Intern from 2013 to 2014.

Simon Wong attended Phoenixville Area High School from 2007 to 2011. Simon then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University from 2011 to 2015. Following their undergraduate studies, Simon furthered their education at Penn State University and obtained a Master's Degree in Software Engineering from 2016 to 2019.
