Vanessa Golan, PHR, SHRM-CP has extensive work experience in recruitment and retention roles in the legal industry. Vanessa most recently served as the Director of Recruiting at Locke Lord LLP. Prior to that, they worked at Foley & Lardner LLP as the Manager of Lateral Partner Recruiting, where they managed the partner recruiting program and oversaw strategic initiatives. Vanessa also worked at Ogletree Deakins, where they held various positions including Director of Recruiting & Retention and Senior Manager of Recruiting & Retention. In these roles, they managed attorney and staff recruitment and retention activities for all of the firm's offices and was responsible for the firm's employment brand. Additionally, Vanessa has experience in organizational development, having served as the Organizational Development Director at Freeman Heyne, a wealth management firm. Vanessa also participated in the AmeriCorps*Vista program as a way to give back to their community before entering the professional world. Prior to that, they gained experience in event planning and promotion as an intern at Dayton History.
Vanessa Golan, PHR, SHRM-CP, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communications from Miami University, with a minor in American English Literature & French. Vanessa also pursued a French Minor at L'Université Stendhal. Vanessa completed their College Preparatory education at Oakwood High School. In addition to their academic achievements, Vanessa has obtained certifications in fields such as Human Resources (PHR®) from the HR Certification Institute and SHRM-CP from SHRM. Vanessa is also IRB Certified by the Institutional Review Board.
