Chris Harms

Portfolio Manager, Co-head Relative Return Group, Vice President at Loomis Sayles

Chris Harms has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. They began their career as a Management Trainee at Kidder Peabody in 1980. From there, they went on to work at Mellon Bank/Girard Bank as a Senior Vice President from 1981 to 1986. At Bear Stearns Asset Management, Chris served as an Associate Director and Portfolio Manager from 1986 to 1991, where they managed short-duration hedged and indexed portfolios. After that, they joined MacKay Shields LLC as a Managing Director and Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager from 1991 to 2006, focusing on the allocation, selection, and performance of mortgage and asset-backed issues. In 2006, Chris joined CapitalSource as a Senior Vice President, where they led an investment management team responsible for managing a residential mortgage investment portfolio. They successfully navigated the financing and structuring of the portfolio during the market turbulence of 2007-2009. Currently, Chris is a Portfolio Manager and Co-Head of the Relative Return Group at Loomis, Sayles & Company since 2010.

Chris Harms attended Villanova University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a specialization in Finance. The specific start year for this degree is not provided, but it is known that they completed it in 1980. Following that, they enrolled at Drexel University in 1981 and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Business in 1983.
