Jacob Lucero has a diverse work experience in the field of music education. Jacob currently works at Los Alamos Public Schools as a K-6 Music Teacher/Choir Director. Prior to this, they served as a Music Teacher at Villa Academy from 2015 to 2019, where they taught K-5 General Music, Elementary/Middle School Choir, Elementary/Middle Orchestra, and assisted with school Musicals. From 2015 to 2019, Jacob was also an Instructor at North Seattle College. Before that, from 2008 to 2015, they ran their own music studio called The Melodic Motive, where they taught violin, viola, ukulele, and guitar and performed for various events. Jacob also worked as an Instructional Assistant at Westside School from 2014 to 2015 and as a Music Instructor at Spotlight Music Store from 2011 to 2014. In addition, they served as an Instructional Paraprofessional at Poudre School District from 2012 to 2013, teaching an afterschool violin class.

Jacob Lucero attended Western Colorado University from 2007 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Teacher Education. Jacob then pursued further education at The University of New Mexico from 2020 to 2022, earning a Master's degree in Music Teacher Education.
