Ahmed Yaniu Areef has a diverse range of work experience. Ahmed Yaniu is currently employed at LottieFiles as a Research and Development Engineer, where they are involved in building the underlying technology for motion graphics. Ahmed Yaniu co-developed the engine for various products including Lottie Creator, Lottie Editor, and Figma to Lottie. Ahmed Yaniu primarily works with Typescript and Python. Prior to this, Ahmed worked as a Freelance Engineer, taking on various projects. Ahmed Yaniu also gained experience as an Engineering Intern at Boat Craft Maldives, where they worked from November 2020 to February 2021. Ahmed Yaniu completed an internship at Male' Water & Sewerage Company Pvt. Ltd as a Mechatronics Engineering Intern during a semester break. In this role, they performed tasks such as electrical wiring, panel installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery. Ahmed also completed an internship at State Electric Company Ltd as a Mechatronics Engineering Intern during a different semester break. Ahmed Yaniu'sresponsibilities included electrical wiring, quality assurance, and generator maintenance. Ahmed Yaniu began their professional career at the Attorney General's Office (Maldives) as an Administrative Officer from November 2015 to December 2016.

Ahmed Yaniu Areef obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from SLIIT, where they studied from 2017 to 2020. In addition, they earned the ACA Cloud Computing Associate Certification from Alibaba Cloud in July 2021.
