Paul GELY has a diverse work experience, with roles in various companies and positions. Paul started their career as a Fontainier at the Mairie d'Albi in 2011. Paul then worked as an Engineer for two months at ESTIA Recherche, focusing on research, design, and development of an augmented reality and image recognition application. After that, Paul had a four-month Engineer internship at Sig-Image, where they worked independently on improving an existing augmented reality application for urban network visualization. In 2015, Paul worked as an Engineer at the CNRS, where they developed and implemented improvements to the MACCS chain for the detection and correction of atmospheric effects in high-resolution optical images. Paul also had a six-month Engineering internship at the Centre National d'Études Spatiales (CNES), where they focused on implementing a large-scale classification chain for satellite images based on the Orfeo ToolBox. Lastly, in 2015, Paul joined La Compagnie Du Bátař as a Viking, and in 2017, they became the COO & Founder at Louis, a sustainable office furniture company.

Paul GELY completed their Master of Science degree in Digital Signal & Image Processing at Cranfield University from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Master en ingénierie in Informatique from ESTIA Bidart between 2012 and 2015. From 2010 to 2012, Paul attended Déodat de Séverac Toulouse, where they pursued their studies in Physiques Techniques. Lastly, they received their Baccalauréat Scientifique with a focus on Sciences de l'Ingénieur and Européenne Anglais from Lycée Louis Rascol Albi from 2007 to 2010.
