Dalton Buysse has significant work experience in the field of cell biology and scientific research. Dalton is currently employed at Loxo@Lilly as a Senior Scientific Lead, focusing on cell biology. Previously, they held the role of Scientific Lead in the same company and started their tenure as a Scientist in Cell Biology. Prior to that, Dalton worked at Loxo Oncology at Lilly as a Senior Scientist in Cell Biology.
Before joining Loxo@Lilly, Dalton pursued their education and research at the University of Colorado, where they completed their PhD in Biochemical and Genetic Characterization of the ESCRT-III protein complex. During this time, they collaborated with an interdisciplinary, international team and utilized various genetic, biochemical, and structural techniques to study the regulation of ESCRT-III in the endosomal pathway.
Dalton also gained experience in the industry through their roles at Beckman Coulter as an Advanced Manufacturing Quality Control Tech and at LabCorp as a Laboratory Technologist Trainee. At Beckman Coulter, they were responsible for the production and analysis of laboratory data and played a vital role in improving the turnaround time for QC projects. At LabCorp, they conducted diagnostic tests on human blood samples and performed maintenance on automated ELISA instruments.
Additionally, Dalton has had diverse experiences in different organizations, including the Mayo Clinic as a Mayo Innovation Scholar, the US Forest Service as a Volunteer Trail Crew member, and The Schwan Food Company as a Customer Sales/Service Specialist.
Dalton Buysse attended Saint John's University from 2008 to 2012, earning a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General. Dalton then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Colorado from 2014 to 2020, specializing in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.
