W. Rush Scaggs

W. Rush Scaggs has a diverse work experience in the field of chemistry. They started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Texas at Arlington, where they focused on organic and analytical research. They then became a Graduate Student Researcher at Indiana University, specializing in asymmetric catalysis and synthesis. After that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Vanderbilt University, focusing on structure-based drug design. Currently, they are employed at Loxo Oncology at Lilly as a Scientist, and will soon transition into the role of Scientific Lead in Medicinal Chemistry.

W. Rush Scaggs completed an Associate's degree from Tarrant County College from 2007 to 2009. Following that, from 2009 to 2014, they earned a Bachelor's of Art in Chemistry and a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology, General from The University of Texas at Arlington. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington between 2014 and 2019.
