Derecka Alexander

Derecka Alexander, MPH, DVM is a Veterinary Science Policy Fellow at USDA, currently serving on the LSU Alumni Association's Young Alumni Advisory Council. Previously, Derecka worked as a Biological Sciences Specialist and Lead Associate Veterinarian. Derecka also has experience as a Summer Scholars Researcher and a Student Trainee at USDA FSIS. Derecka holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Public Health degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Additionally, Derecka has dual Bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences and Animal/Dairy/Poultry Science.
