Tarun Bhatia has worked in various roles in the technology industry since 2014. Tarun began their career as a Software Trainee at NTPC, where they worked on predicting maintenance for various components in a Thermal Power Plant. In 2015, they were a Software Developer Intern at Oracle. In 2017, they were a Deep Learning Intern at Zeff, which was later acquired by DataRobot. At the same time, they were a Teaching Assistant for Machine Learning for Trading at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In 2018, they joined Neuravest Research, Inc. as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer/Quant, Senior Quantitative Analyst, and Deep Learning Quant Researcher/Engineer. In their roles at Neuravest, they lead research and development of machine learning applied to trading equity and commodity markets, designed and developed machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, reinforcement learning, and NLP algorithms/architectures, and created an end to end pipeline for bespoke trading strategies using alternative data. In 2022, they became an Academic Mentor (Faculty) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for their Data Science and Machine Learning Program.

Tarun Bhatia obtained their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur between 2012 and 2016. Tarun then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science (Machine Learning) from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2017 and 2019.
