Cassandra Targett

Cassandra Targett has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Cassandra started their career as a Research Intern at Mother Jones Magazine in 1989. Later, they worked as an Accounts Receivables Coordinator at MJ Research from 1994 to 1998.

In 1998, Cassandra joined Northern Light Technology as a Classification specialist and eventually became the Editor-in-Chief for Special Editions, managing the web-based information delivery service. Cassandra then became Director of SinglePoint Search Development at Northern Light Technology in 2002.

In 2003, Cassandra joined Ex Libris Group as the MetaLib Implementation Librarian and later became the Manager of Support Services. Cassandra also worked at Copyright Clearance Center as the Manager of Data Systems from 2007 to 2009.

From 2009 to 2022, Cassandra worked at Lucidworks, starting as an Engineering Manager and progressing to various roles including Information Architect, Director of Engineering, and currently, as the VP of Engineering. Cassandra has been responsible for managing product documentation, project releases, and sys admin tasks.

In 2013, Cassandra joined The Apache Software Foundation as a Lucene/Solr PMC, Lucene/Solr Committer, and later became the Chair of the Lucene PMC from 2019 to 2020.

Overall, Cassandra has demonstrated expertise in information management, project management, and engineering leadership throughout their career.

Cassandra Targett obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from Bard College, where they studied from 1988 to 1992. Cassandra later pursued a Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons University, completing their studies from 1997 to 1999.
