Chris Bemben

Chris Bemben is currently the VP of Business Development at Lumos Pharma. Prior to this, they were a Research Scientist at Southwest Research Institute from January 2008 to July 2015. There, they were responsible for managing diverse scientific teams bringing new molecules to the clinic. Chris also led business development efforts for pharmaceutical clients, which included proposal writing, budgeting, marketing, and maintaining client relationships.

Bemben has successfully developed lead candidates for pre-clinical and clinical trials, starting from in-silico design and traditional medicinal chemistry optimization. Chris has also led integrated teams through scale up and formulation. Under their leadership, Lumos Pharma has become a leading pharmaceutical company that develops innovative treatments for patients with rare diseases.

Chris Bemben has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management Science from The University of Texas at San Antonio, a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from The University of Texas at San Antonio, and is a Welch Fellow from the Cyclotron Institute at Texas A&M University. Chris is also certified from the Project Management Institute in Project Management Professional (PMP).
