President - UCL Student Division at Lawyers Without Borders

Xinyu S. has a diverse range of work experience, starting with a current role as an Assistant Editor in the Publications Subcommittee at UCL Law Society. Prior to this, Xinyu served as the Head of Social Media and Events Officer in the UCL Student Division of Lawyers Without Borders. Xinyu also worked as a Researcher and Writer for LinkedIn Editorial at SG Criminal Case Summary Repository.

In addition, Xinyu has been involved with various organizations, including Youth Corps Singapore, where they served as a Member, Taskforce Lead/Co-Lead, and Member and Welfare Head of the Sustainability Cluster Taskforce 11. Xinyu also held a role as an Editor and Writer in the Editorial and Publications Committee of the United Kingdom Singapore Law Students' Society.

Furthermore, Xinyu gained legal experience through internships at the Ministry of Defence of Singapore, FREEDOM LAW CLINIC, A Alagappan Law Corporation, Ola Chat, and Legal Clinic LLC. These roles allowed Xinyu to develop skills in legal services, casework, product management, and general legal work.

Overall, Xinyu S. has a well-rounded work experience portfolio, encompassing both legal and non-legal roles, with a strong focus on editorial and publication work as well as social media management and research.

Xinyu S. is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at UCL, starting in 2021 and set to graduate in 2024. Before attending UCL, Xinyu S. completed Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Levels at Raffles Institution from 2019 to 2020, achieving an impressive score of AAAA/A with six distinctions. Xinyu S. also attended Raffles Girls' School from 2015 to 2018, where they participated in the Integrated Programme (IP) and obtained a GCE O-Level qualification with exceptional results, including a top grade in the Malay Special Programme and Higher Chinese.

Additionally, Xinyu S. has obtained various certifications to complement their education. They became a Green Impact Team Member for the academic year 2021/2022 through the organization Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK), showing their commitment to sustainability. Xinyu S. also acquired the Green Impact Environmental Auditor certification from IEMA in May 2022, further demonstrating their expertise in environmental practices. Furthermore, in December 2020, Xinyu S. received the Competent Gavel Communicator Award from Toastmasters International, highlighting their strong communication skills.
