Jon Simmons

Jon Simmons is the Vice President of Operations. Jon’s journey began by earning a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University while working in R&D for the energy industry. After graduation, he joined Lockheed working in R&D for the F-22 and other programs. Next Jon entered the world of high energy physics with a 4 year assignment at the Superconducting Super Collider National Laboratory as the integration engineer for the main ring of superconducting magnets. Joining his first small company, he was the Product Line Manager and Head Engineer for a small startup, Cybex Technologies; automating the last manual manufacturing process for the Intel Pentium. Next he spent ten years at Applied Materials in 1996 where he was a leader in the world wide Ion Implant team, with multiple first in fab product launches at 1st Tier Semiconductor Manufacturers. Jon then entered the world of ultraprecision optics becoming Vice President of Engineering at Nanometrics; where he led the development of the products into an industry leading position. Joining ThinFilm Electronics in 2015, Jon built out and commissioned the world’s first roll to roll printed transistor fab. In early 2021 Jon joined Lyncean Technologies, tasked with delivering the present commitments and building out an operational organization to support an aggressive expansion in the business.
