Jesse Watkins is the Digital Success Manager at Mabus Agency. Prior to that, they were a Happiness Engineer at Automattic from January 2018 to October 2019. In their previous role, they were responsible for onboarding over 300 customers toward their success with WordPress and best website practices in one-on-one Quick Start screen sharing sessions. Jesse also supported 1000s of customers through live chats and tickets with above-team-average customer feedback scores.
In addition to their customer success work, Jesse also collaborated across developer, marketing, and business divisions to integrate customer feedback through 100+ bug reports and direct communication with responsible parties in those teams. Jesse represented Automattic in marketing and demonstrating their Jetpack product at WordCamp US 2018. During their time at Automattic, they also facilitated team meetings leading to greater buy-in on team objectives.
During their time at Automattic, Jesse also took the opportunity to grow their skillset by reading books on leadership and team development, such as Dare to Lead by Brené Brown, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni, and Ask More by Frank Sesno. Jesse's love of learning led him to also read books on personal development, such as The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson and Originals by Adam Grant. Jesse's passion for business led him to read The Personal MBA by Josh Kaufman and How to Fight a Hydra by Josh Kaufman. And finally, their commitment to excellent customer service drove him to read The Customer Service Revolution by John R. DiJulius III.
Jesse Watkins has a Level II Certification in Group Dialogue from Collaborative Communication Practices and a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Congregational Leadership & Biblical Studies from Johnson University.
They work with Jeremy Donaldson - Director of Photography, Mike Reynolds - Lead Web Developer, and Drew Williams - Project Manager. Their manager is Josh Mabus, President, Chief Creative Officer.
