Tom Heskes

Tom Heskes has a long and varied work experience. Tom began their career in 1993 as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 1994, they moved to SNN as a Researcher. Four years later, they became the Director of SMART Research BV. In 2004, they joined Radboud University Nijmegen as a Professor of Artificial Intelligence, a role they held until 2018. During this time, they also served as the Director of Education, Head of Machine Learning Research Group, Director of the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences, and Editor-in-Chief of Neurocomputing. In 2017, they co-founded Machine2Learn, and in 2018 they became a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Stichting Hanarth Fonds.

Tom Heskes attended Canisius College Nijmegen from 1978 to 1984. Tom then went on to Radboud University, where they earned a Master's degree in Physics in 1989 and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics in 1993.
