VP of Finance at Magnet Systems

Stu Abrams has a diverse and extensive work experience in finance and operations. Stu has held various roles in different companies, showcasing their expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership.

Starting in 1992, Stu worked at Synopsys Inc. where they served as the Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis. Stu was responsible for managing the annual operating plan and monthly rolling forecasts, working closely with the CEO and CFO to set targets for all business units. Stu also developed and implemented an internal investment pool proposal and allocation process.

Stu then joined International Network Services in 1996 as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Stu led the corporate FP&A function, building and developing the financial planning organization. Stu managed the annual operating plan, monthly rolling forecasts, and utilized a flexible budgeting process. Stu provided performance reporting, revenue and profitability forecasting, and decision support analysis to field and corporate management.

In the year 2000, Stu became the VP of Finance at Ceon Corporation, a venture-backed telecom infrastructure software company. Stu established financial processes, plans, and controls to reduce spending, improve decision making, and accelerate the path to profitability. Stu also prepared and presented financial results at quarterly board meetings.

In 2001, Stu joined VERITAS Software as the Sr. Director of WW, Americas Sales Finance. Stu managed an operations-oriented sales finance team and structured the sales finance function and team for the Americas and Worldwide Field Operations. Stu worked closely with sales and corporate management to establish sales targets, organization structure, and compensation plans.

From 2006 to 2007, Stu worked at Ciklum ApS, a closely held software development outsourcing company, as the Chief Financial Officer. Stu restructured the finance organization, installed a formal budgeting process, and improved revenue forecasting.

In 2008, Stu became the Chief Financial Officer at Lohika Systems, a venture-backed software development outsourcing company. Stu managed all finance functions, implemented cost reductions, and changes in cash management. Stu turned the company from losses and negative cash flow to positive cash flow.

Stu has also provided consulting services to various technology companies, including Magnet Systems, eTeamSponsor, Bluefeet Software, and mysocialblend. As a consultant, they offered a broad range of strategic and operational finance consulting services.

In 2011, Stu returned to Magnet Systems as the Corporate Controller. Stu managed the monthly and quarterly closes, prepared financial reports, and provided FP&A support.

In 2012, Stu joined eTeamSponsor.com as the Chief Financial Officer. Stu was responsible for turning the company's finances around, rationalizing headcount, spending, and organization structure. Stu also created sales compensation plans to motivate sales and drive profitable revenue growth.

Currently, Stu Abrams is the VP of Finance at Magnet Systems, Inc. In this role, they manage accounting, tax, financial planning, cash management, pricing/margin analysis, and financial reporting to the board and investors. Stu also oversees HR management through Trinet.

Stu Abrams attended UC Santa Barbara from 1977 to 1981, where they completed their Bachelor's degree in Business/Managerial Economics. Afterward, they pursued further education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1985 to 1987, earning their MBA with a focus on Business Administration in Finance/Strategy.
