Paul Watkins has been working in the biotechnology and healthcare industries since 2011. Paul began their career as a Manufacturing Technician I at Baxter Healthcare in 2011, and then moved to UCSF Medical Center in 2012 as a Lead Clinical Research Coordinator/Protocol Project Manager. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the start-up activities and maintenance of Phase I, II, and III clinical trials, as well as training and supervising coordinators in the Gynecologic Oncology program. In 2015, they became a Clinical Trial Manager at Dako. In 2016, they joined Atara Biotherapeutics as a Sr. Clinical Trial Specialist and then a Clinical Trial Specialist, where they were responsible for coordinating care for more than 50 patients across multiple clinical trials and developing updated documentation guidelines. In 2018, they moved to Plexxikon Inc. as a Clinical Program Manager and then a Clinical Program Manager 2. Paul is currently at MAIA Biotechnology, Inc., where they are the Director of Clinical Operations and Associate Director of Clinical Operations.
Paul Watkins attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2005 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In 2014, they obtained the Certified Clinical Research Professional certification from SoCRA.
