Christian Schölz has over 20 years of work experience in various roles related to laboratory management, research, and consulting. Christian is currently working at Mainz Biomed as the Head of Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory, where they are responsible for organizing laboratory processes, ensuring quality standards, developing new test areas, and managing a team of up to 10 employees. Prior to this, they served as the Director Laboratory Frankfurt at CENTOGENE, overseeing a team of 90 employees and leading the organization of laboratory processes for SARS-CoV-2 testing. Christian also has experience as a Group Leader and Postdoctoral Researcher at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Guest Scientist at HelmholtzZentrum München, and Postdoctoral Researcher at Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt am Main. Christian began their career as a Ph.D. student at Goethe University and gained early experience as a Student Trainee at Merck KGaA. Christian holds expertise in quantitative mass spectrometry of proteins, analysis of posttranslational modifications, drug screening and testing, and cell biological studies.

Christian Schölz earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from Goethe University Frankfurt, completing their studies from 2005 to 2011. Prior to this, they obtained a diploma in Biochemistry from the same institution, studying from 2000 to 2005. Christian also engaged in civil service at St. Vinzenz Hospital from 1999 to 2000. Christian completed their secondary education at Karl-Rehbein Gymnasium in Hanau from 1990 to 1999, obtaining an "Abitur" degree with a grade of 1.6 in Biology and Chemistry. Additionally, they hold various certifications in fields such as product management, project management, and healthcare projects.
