Karen Wells

Karen Wells has an extensive work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Karen currently holds the position of Chief Strategy and Diversity Officer at Make-A-Wish America since January 2023. Prior to this, they founded and served as the CEO of The AIW Group starting from January 2015.

Karen also worked as the Chief Executive Officer at Bridge Communities from an unknown start date until January 2023. At Bridge Communities, they focused on transitioning homeless families to self-sufficiency by providing mentoring, housing, and supportive services.

Before that, Karen was the Franchise Owner of The Goddard School, where they were responsible for various operations, local marketing, customer service, and managing P&L. Karen'stenure at The Goddard School lasted from January 2012 to November 2019.

In terms of their early career, Karen held a Vice President position at McDonald's, where they led the strategy development and alignment of functional departments for McDonald's USA from 2011 to 2012. Karen also served as the VP of Menu Strategy & New Product Development from 2007 to 2011, contributing to consecutive years of increased sales and guest counts.

Karen's earlier roles include Sales Leader at M&M/Mars from July 1990 to March 1992 and Buyer at The Drackett Company from June 1988 to June 1990.

Karen Wells holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Xavier University. Karen also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Meredith College. In addition to their formal education, Karen has obtained several certifications including a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University. Karen is also certified as a Trainer by aha! Process and has training in DiSC™ Profiles for Leadership as a Coach and Administrator. Karen is also a certified Facilitator in Getting Ahead.
