Steven Reynolds, PhD, PE

Process Design Engineer at Manus Bio

Steven Reynolds, PhD, PE has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Steven started their career as a Contract Engineer at Kelly Services where they produced hafnium and zirconium-based catalysts. Steven then worked at Albemarle as a Process Technology Engineer, where they played a crucial role in the startup of a hydrogen cyanide plant.

Subsequently, Steven joined the University of South Carolina as a Graduate Student, where they developed FORTRAN code for research on pressure swing adsorption (PSA) and CO2 capture. Following that, they worked at Fluor as a Process/Specialty Engineer, leading projects related to refrigeration, CO2 compression, and wastewater treatment systems.

Steven then joined RTI International as a Research Chemical Engineer, where they developed FEED packages for trace contaminant removal systems and worked on a warm syngas cleanup project.

After that, Steven worked at KBR, Inc. as a Sr. Technical Professional, overseeing HVAC installations and supporting the material handling group. Steven then joined Jacobs as a Senior Chemical Process Engineer, where they led projects involving machine installations and heat exchanger replacements.

Later, they joined Savannah River Nuclear Solutions as a Principal Engineer, conducting research on hydrogen storage materials and systems. Steven played a key role in developing research directions, executing research plans, and presenting the results at conferences.

Most recently, Steven worked at Merrick & Company as a Senior Process Engineer, leading the design of gloveboxes to house furnaces and cleaning tanks. Steven was responsible for developing P&IDs, writing process narratives, and performing line sizing calculations.

Currently, Steven is working at Manus Bio as a Process Design Engineer.

Steven Reynolds, PhD, PE has a strong educational background in chemical engineering. Steven obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, where they studied from 1994 to 1999. Steven then pursued further education and earned their Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina, where they studied from 2002 to 2007.

Additionally, Steven has obtained several certifications in their field. Steven is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and has received certifications from the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in July 2022, the New Mexico Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors in April 2023, and the NCBELS (North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors) in December 2012.

Before their university studies, Steven attended Eldorado High School from 1990 to 1994. No specific degrees or fields of study are mentioned for this period, suggesting that it was their general education prior to pursuing their engineering degree.
