Michael Afolabi

Michael Afolabi, P.Eng., PMP® is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in engineering, project management, and continuous improvement methodologies. Currently serving as a Six Sigma Black Belt at Maple Leaf Foods Inc since January 2022, Michael leads process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational capabilities and increasing productivity. Prior roles include Reliability Engineer at Vale, where asset performance was optimized for the Copper Cliff mine complex, and Project Engineer at Nestlé, where Michael contributed to capital project development and execution. Michael has also held various positions at Nestlé, including Continuous Improvement Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, demonstrating expertise in implementing Total Productive Maintenance and managing maintenance operations across multiple facilities. With a Master of Engineering Management from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Michael combines strong technical skills with a focus on operational excellence.
