Brooke Nelson

Brooke Nelson has a diverse work experience in the education field. Brooke is currently working as the Director of Curriculum at Marco Learning, a position they began in November 2022. Previously, they worked at Subject as a Senior Manager, Academics from December 2020 to October 2022. Brooke also served as an Accreditation and Curriculum Manager from July 2021 to December 2021 and as a History Teacher from October 2020 to June 2021 at the same company.

Before joining Subject, Brooke held the position of Visiting Professor at Chamberlain University from September 2018 to September 2021. Brooke also worked as a Program Coordinator & Humanities Lecturer at California State University-Dominguez Hills from January 2014 to September 2021. During their tenure, they managed a budget of $25K and a team of 8, established Free Speech Week, and developed no-cost courses with free textbook material.

Additionally, Brooke has experience as an Educational Consultant at Nelson Educational Services, LLC since January 2008. In this role, they have developed full-length practice AP exams, rationales, lesson plans, and study guides for various history and government courses.

Brooke's earlier roles include working as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Marymount California University from January 2015 to May 2018 and as Adjunct Faculty at California Lutheran University from August 2011 to May 2013.

Brooke Nelson has an extensive education history. Brooke first attended the University of California, Riverside from 2005 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in History and English. Brooke then pursued further studies at the University of Edinburgh, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in First Millennium Studies from 2008 to 2009. Following this, they attended UC Irvine from 2009 to 2010 and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in History. Finally, they completed their academic journey at Claremont Graduate University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Religion from 2011 to 2014.

In addition to their academic degrees, Brooke Nelson also holds a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) which they obtained from the Scrum Alliance in July 2022.
