Megan Elliott

VP & Chief Operating Officer at Marie Stopes International

Megan is responsible for leading MSI’s operations and strategic security in 32 countries in Africa and Asia, the portfolio management of the global and multi-county programmes, and the design and development of their new programmes.

Before taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer, Megan was responsible for driving MSI’s strategic direction, as well as advancing their strategic engagement with key partners and donors, and securing new financing across the global partnership.

She brings 15 years of experience in designing and implementing complex service delivery and social marketing programmes in Africa and Asia across a wide variety of health areas, from safe abortion and contraception, to HIV prevention and treatment, tuberculosis, malaria and child survival. She has a deep understanding of the country's operating environments and the generous donors that make the work possible.

Megan has held strategic, programmatic and technical management roles in country, including long-term field positions in Uganda and Tanzania, as well as in headquarters roles in Paris, Washington and London. She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Conflict Resolution from the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.
