Ellen Geohegan has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ellen began their career as an RN, specializing in critical care, at Kaiser Permanente in 1984 and worked there until 2002. During this time, they also concurrently worked with multiple registries providing critical care services to local hospitals.

In 2004, Ellen returned to Kaiser Permanente as a Solution Consultant and later transitioned into the role of Engagement Manager in the Integrations Group. Ellen held these positions until 2013, during which they implemented and coordinated medical terminology analysis and served as an interim medical terminology analyst and implementation designer.

Following their tenure at Kaiser Permanente, Ellen worked at Remedy Informatics as a Healthcare Ontology Analyst and Clinical Terminologist, where they implemented an ontology-based infrastructure to support registry queries and data migration. Ellen also briefly worked as an Analyst in Medical Informatics and Clinical Terminology at an unspecified company in 2014.

Ellen's next role was as a Solutions and Healthcare Ontology Analyst at 720VU, LLC from August 2015 to February 2017. Ellen then transitioned to a Solutions Consultant role at Rose International, where they worked on projects for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California from March 2015 to March 2017.

In 2017, Ellen joined Bioascensis as a Principal Healthcare IT Solution Consultant, specializing in providing ad hoc support in pharmaceuticals IT and analyzing clinical workflows. Ellen remained with the company until July 2020.

Following their time at Bioascensis, Ellen worked as a Project Manager at Rose International from March 2018 to March 2019, and then joined JISEKI Health in June 2019. At JISEKI Health, they held the title of Program, Product, Project Manager, and Solution Consultant until October 2022.

Most recently, Ellen Geohegan joined MarinHealth in October 2022 as an Information Technology Project Manager.

Ellen Geohegan has a diverse education history. Ellen attended UC San Diego, where they studied Bioinformatics. In 2017, they participated in a Bioinformatics program at UC San Diego. Ellen also completed a course in the Fundamentals of Nursing Informatics at the Nursing Informatics Learning Center. In 2016, Ellen successfully completed the SNOMED CT Implementation course in Medical Informatics - Terminology at the IHTSDO Learning. Prior to these programs, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management from the University of San Francisco in 1999. Ellen also holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Santa Rosa Junior College, which they completed between 1980 and 1984. Additionally, Ellen obtained certifications in Lean Six Sigma Foundations and Six Sigma Foundations through LinkedIn in January 2018. Ellen is currently pursuing a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute, which they are expected to obtain in 2023.
