Paul Vorwerk is an experienced environmental and technical advisor with a focus on maritime and ecological issues. Currently serving as the Manager for Environment and Science Technical Support at Maritime New Zealand since November 2010, Paul provides critical technical advice for policy development, international negotiations, and spill response initiatives. Notable contributions include acting as the Head of Delegation for New Zealand at the International Maritime Organisation's Marine Environment Protection Committee. Previous roles include managerial positions at the Environmental Protection Authority NZ, technical advisory work with the International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation, and consulting roles with several organizations focused on environmental assessments. Paul holds a PhD in Coastal and Estuarine Ecology and an MSc in Estuarine Ecology from Rhodes University.
