Brian Yu

Brian Yu has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Brian started their career as a software developer and tester at Logica, where they worked on projects in the Space & Defense division. Brian then moved on to become a software support developer at XL Winterthur Insurance Company and was also involved in an automated document generation process. Brian later joined Accenture as an IT consultant, managing and implementing IT solutions for financial services projects. At UBS Investment Bank, they served as a configuration and build manager, responsible for code configuration and deployment processes. Following that, they worked at EasyScreen as a build and configuration manager, where they implemented a Continuous Integration process and handled multiple regression tests. Currently, Brian is working at MarketAxess as an SRE manager, overseeing the PostTrade SRE team and leading the modernization efforts for their SDLC Cloud Migration. Brian was instrumental in driving cultural change within the team and received the Red Hat Digital Leaders Awards for Cultural Change in 2022.

Brian Yu attended the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine from 1994 to 1999. Brian earned a degree with a 2:1 classification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering with management. In terms of certifications, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in August 2021. Brian also holds the ISEB Certified Tester certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, although the month and year of obtainment are not specified.
