Dena Patel

Dena Patel is the current finance manager and business affairs team lead at Marmoset. Dena has over six years of experience in accounting and financial management. Prior to joining Marmoset, Dena worked as an accounting supervisor at Level 3, Vyvx Solutions. There, they were responsible for matching invoices with supporting PO and packing slips, researching and reconciling all vendor accounts on a weekly or monthly basis, coordinating weekly payments to vendors, processing employee expense reimbursements, and processing intercompany billing. In addition, Dena prepared monthly and annual forecasts, including any necessary recommended action required to manage costs to achieve budget. Dena also supervised a team of three accounting clerks and reviewed collection reports weekly with the CFO to determine the status of collections and outstanding balances. In their first year on the job, Dena was able to reduce accounts receivable from $2.4 million to less than $900k in past due invoices. Dena also executed accounts receivable reporting enhancements and reconciliation procedures, performed complex general accounting functions, including preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, initiated and entered all wire transfer payments in the accounting system, and analyzed cost of revenue on a monthly basis in detail to determine whether it fell within budget for the month. Discrepancies were reported to management for further review. Additionally, Dena helped facilitate the forecasting procedure and ensured all departments were within budget by providing monthly updates to management. Dena also prepared all cost of revenue and operating expense accruals on a monthly basis. Finally, Dena assisted in the due diligence of the company buy out from Genesis Networks to Global Crossing to Level 3 Communications.

Dena Patel received their Bachelor's degree in Economics and Marketing from the University of Cincinnati.
