Alana Merchant

Alana Merchant (Heifetz) is a seasoned data engineering professional with extensive experience in leadership roles at Mastercard since February 2019, currently serving as Vice President of Data Engineering. Alana leads the North America Data Engineering group, guiding over 30 engineers in building ETL pipelines for Data & Services products. Prior to this, Alana held multiple director positions focused on new product development and managed cross-functional teams to enhance data integration tools. Alana's earlier experience includes serving as Principal and Lead Database Analyst at Applied Predictive Technologies, where significant contributions included architecting ETL processes and integrating Mastercard data for client analyses. Alana also possesses experience as a Senior Consultant and Consultant at Navigant Consulting. Alana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, and Economics from the University of Virginia.
