Ufuk Celebi

Ufuk Celebi is the current Director of Engineering at Materialize. Prior to this, they were a co-founder, staff engineer, and engineering lead at Ververica, the original creators of Apache Flink. Celebi has also worked as a student research assistant at The Apache Software Foundation and Technische Universität Berlin, where they worked on the Stratosphere Data Analytics Platform (precursor to Apache Flink). Ufuk has also worked as a student research assistant at Zuse Institute Berlin, where they worked on Scalaris (distributed scalable key-value store with transactions). Finally, Celebi has also worked as a student teaching assistant at Freie Universität Berlin, where they taught courses in systems and software engineering.

Ufuk Celebi studied computer science at the Freie Universität Berlin, the Technische Universität Berlin, and ETH Zürich.
