James Tanton

James Tanton is a mathematician known for their mathematics outreach efforts. James is currently the Co-Founder of Beagle Learning and holds the title of Mathematician at Large at the Mathematical Association of America. In the past, James served as the Founding Director of St Mark's Institute of Mathematics, where James focused on mathematics outreach, teacher training, student research projects, book writing, and mathematics research. James also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Northeastern University, teaching core content courses for the Masters of Education program in mathematics. Tanton holds a PhD in Mathematics from Princeton University and a B Sc (Hons) in Mathematics/Theoretical Physics from the University of Adelaide.
