Environmental Engineer at Matrix Solutions

Sierra Holzen has a diverse range of experience in the field of environmental engineering and international development. Sierra started their career as an Environmental Engineering Intern at Matrix Solutions, Inc. in 2011. In this role, they gained practical experience in environmental assessment and remediation projects.

Sierra then joined EPCOR as an Engineering Student in 2010, where they further developed their engineering skills. Sierra also had the opportunity to work with Engineers Without Borders Canada as a Junior Fellow in International Development in 2009. During their time with this organization, they worked in Zambia, partnering with the NGO International Development Enterprises (IDE) to support small-scale farmers.

Sierra returned to Matrix Solutions, Inc. in 2012, this time as an Environmental Engineer. In this role, they worked as a project manager and technical engineer, primarily focusing on upstream oil & gas facilities in Alberta and northeast British Columbia. Their responsibilities included client communication, data analysis, coordination of field staff and contractors, as well as technical report writing and proposal preparation.

Prior to their professional experience, Sierra worked as a Water Engineering Student at Golder Associates in 2008, where they gained practical skills in water engineering.

Overall, Sierra Holzen has demonstrated their expertise in environmental engineering and their dedication to international development through their various roles and experiences.

Sierra Holzen completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Civil Engineering (Environmental Option) - Co-op at the University of Alberta from 2006 to 2011.
