Andrea Cheam

Andrea Cheam has over 16 years of diverse work experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, and human resources. Andrea is currently the Head of Talent Acquisition for Maxis since November 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Head of Talent Acquisition at TDCX from April 2022 to December 2022. Before that, they were the Head of Recruitment & Employer Branding at Top Glove from February 2021 to March 2022. Andrea also has a strong background in talent acquisition and management, having served as the Manager - Talent Acquisition at The Lion Group from June 2015 to February 2021 and as the Talent Acquisition & Training Manager at Niro Ceramic Group from October 2013 to May 2015. Andrea gained expertise in executive search and selection as a Senior Search Consultant at Hunters I Sdn Bhd from April 2010 to September 2013, where they specialized in headhunting for the telecom industry. Andrea began their career as a Business Development Manager at Kelly Services from February 2006 to May 2010, focusing on new business development and staffing placement.

Andrea Cheam obtained a Master of Arts in Communication from Swinburne University of Technology in 2006-2007 and a Bachelor of Business in Accountancy from RMIT University in 1997-2000. Andrea completed their Canadian Pre-University at Taylor's University in 1996-1997 and received an SPM degree in Art/Art Studies, General from SMK Subang Utama in 1991-1995. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from LinkedIn in 2022 on topics such as professional image development, HR recruiting communication strategies, leadership with vision, and rules for rising leaders.
